Welcome September

Hello Friends of the Market:

New items are starting to be placed in the market. You can look for fall greens such as pac choy, taisoy, turnips, kale and lettuce. Mushrooms (shiitake) are starting to fruit and as soon as wetter weather comes in you can expect enough for bulk purchases.

The Pleasant View market is still 2 to 6 every Thursday, time adjustments will be made in October.

Also I like to help promote the Ashland City Co-Op annual Hoedown September 17 6 to 9:30. Free food and music. Its Co-Op way to say thank you!

Have a great week

Summer Heat Brings Good Food

Is it not so strange we wait all spring for the summer harvest then its so darn hot we don’t want to go get it.

I can truly say it has been hot! This summer heat has ushered in some real good vegatables.

This week you can now find the okra starting to come in, green beans has showed up at most of the farm stands and lots of tomatoes.

Several of our venders offer their tomatoes at a bulk price for 1/2 and whole bushels. you can cantact: Max Harris, Johnny Harris or Steve Hickerson. Their contact info is now posted on www.ourfarmer.org

We like to welcome Country Lane Blueberries operated by David Richardson. His berries are a late season type and should have them into August.

Come on out to the Pleasant View market 2 to 6 pm every Thursday or visit our producers at the other markets they use.

Have a great week

The Market Continues To Grow

The heat is on, just think back to that cold cloudy day this past winter and be glad for it.

Peppers and tomatoes like the heat and I think most would agree we could use some rain to keep them going.

Eaton’s Creek Organics gave notice on trying to be at the PV market this week and also hope that soon we will have a egg producer.

The Pie Lady’s are at summer fest this week and I think the blue berries are just about gone.

We hope to see very body this week.
